Telephone Travel Overview
OUITEL provides a method for you to relocate
your telephone to another office.
Your existing telephone number and
voice mail will follow you to your new location.
This method can be used when two or more people exchange locations.
Here's how:
- Request telephone travel by writing a memo to
Information Technology.
You should list the following information
in your request (in the order listed), for each
telephone to be moved ...
- 5 digit extension
- name
- old location
- new location
- Where:
- the 5 digit extension is the last 5 digits of the phone
number
- the department name listing if a number published in the
department section of the BlueKey, or the name of the person for a private
telephone, otherwise the official building abbreviation and
room number for a shared office or grad office phone
- the old location is the current building and room number
- the new location is the proposed building and room number
- Restrictions:
- the begin and end locations must have working telephones
- all telephone travel must be started and completed in
at one time
- telephones associated with main numbers listed in the
Blue Key departments section can not travel.
