Overview
Information and Media Networks is a division of Information
Technology
of the University of Louisiana - Lafayette. Information Technology
is under the leadership of Mr. Gene Fields, Chief Information Officer
for the University of Louisiana - Lafayette. The Office of Information
Technology is under the leadership of Vice-President Mr. Jerry Luke
Leblanc.
IMN provides the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with five
distinctive areas
of service.
It is Information and Media Networks' responsibility and goal to
strive for the best possible outcome in assisting and providing solutions
to communication problems.

IMN is under the direction of Steve Mahler. He has served at the
University of Louisiana- Lafayette for more than 20 years providing
direction and guidance in support of the University's IT needs.

NETWORK SERVICES provides connectivity among the
computing facilities. The goal is to provide every terminal or PC
with the option to connect to all the computational power on campus.
Currently all academic buildings are connected by fiber-optic backbone
network which has connections to world-wide networks including SURANET
and INTERNET. Network Services also provides telephone communications
for the campus. The advanced digital switch provides a multitude
of features including call coverage paths, call parking, multi-person
conference calling, and compute voicemail services. Long distance
services are provided via LINC for business calls and an AOS system
for personal calls. Your telephone instructions are included in the
orientation materials.
PC SERVICES are available for University owned
equipment (pc's, pc peripherals, etc). Qualified technicians are
available in assisting with hardware problems.
MEDIA SERVICES
OPERATOR SERVICES staff is qualified and experienced
personnel to assist in obtaining any information needed concerned
with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
A/V Services provides the use of audio visual equipment
to University personnel.
