Students
Making Personal Long Distance Calls From Campus
Do you have a calling card?
Students are responsible for the direct payment for any personal long distance calls they may place from a ULL telephone.
The AOS (Assisted Operator Service) system will accept the following calling and/or credit cards:
MCI, AT&T Universal Card
BellSouth or other LEC
American Express, VISA, MasterCard
Discover, Diner's Club, Carte Blanche
The AOS system will also accept collect calls.
Note:
All cards (calling cards as well as credit cards) that are used to place telephone calls must be billed to either your permanent home address or a post office box.
CAMPUS TELEPHONE NUMBERS (any 482-XXXX or 851-XXXX) CANNOT BE USED AS THE BILLING NUMBER (doing so could result in student disciplinary action)!
If you do have a calling and/or credit card which allows telephone billing, but your card is not on the above list, follow the dialing instructions that are on your card. You may wish to consider obtaining one of the cards accepted by the AOS system.
How can I contact the AOS vendor?
Call the AOS vendor toll-free by dialing 9-800-316-3034.
How do I make an AOS calling card call?
From almost any campus telephone dial: 9-P-area code and number-#. Wait for the splash tone then enter your card number and # sign. (Note: From a dorm room, dialing the P is optional. The 'P' stands for
P
ersonal, and it is on the '7' key.)
How can I make a long distance call without a calling card?
Two options for dialing without a calling card are:
Dial 9-P-area code-number-#. Wait for the splash tone then dial 11.
You may also use an 800-long distance collect service, such as 800-COLLECT.
