| Beginning
in the Fall of 2010, based upon student survey responses, Information
and Media Networks in conjunction with a diverse group of faculty,
staff, and students developed the University’s next generation
of wireless service. In March 2011, Information and Media Networks
coordinated with Aruba networks to install a new wireless controller
and wireless access points in Dupre Library. IMN received positive
feedback and was ready to continue deployment. Since that time, the
buildings listed below have received Aruba wireless access points.
We are happy to announce the first anniversary of the initial
service in Dupre Library. We have been deploying wireless at such
a fast rate that we have had to purchase additional equipment and
licenses (ahead of schedule) to handle the demands that faculty,
staff, and students have placed upon the wireless network. This
is a project that will continue to be in the forefront of our department’s
and the University’s overall commitment to providing connectivity
for our students.
